FRACTEL AMBASSADOR - Dean Cane

A couple of months ago at a local race we were lucky enough to cross paths with Dean Cane.( @dean__cane ) . He was taking part in two days of racing with the TREX Cross Triathlon on the Saturday and Trail Run Australia Half Marathon on the Sunday. It didn’t take long for us to work out this guy was the real deal. Dean’s a quality athlete who has recently turned professional, but a humble competitor none-the-less. We’re stoked to welcome him on board our small but passionate team! Here is a little about Dean’s background and ‘why’ he runs…

“My name is Dean Cane, I am 19 years old and I’m a professional triathlete from Brisbane. I have loved everything about the outdoors since I was a kid, running around in the bush and riding my bike where you sometimes shouldn’t! Running has been a part of me for years and without it I would feel lost. Being the final leg in a triathlon is quite fitting because, well, save the best for last! Recently I started competing overseas as a debut pro in the crazy world of Xterra off road triathlon and wow it has been eye opening! Challenging body and mind in some extraordinary situations over insane terrain is something I live for. Trail running to me, is a way to escape and find a peaceful rhythm amongst difficult circumstances and I’ve got to say that’s probably what gets me out the door early every morning! I have my eyes firmly set on racing the Xterra pro series races next year as well as mixing it up on the road scene and taking on the occasional trail race!"

Welcome aboard Dean! We're excited to support you during this next stage of your career and into the future..

  • You guys have 100% picked up the best and most humble athlete I have come across in the last 10 years of my “amateur” career. He will not let you down I can tell you that now, I honestly believe that he is going to make it to the highest level of triathlon and dominate any race he enters.
