Tom Price’s 1500km Journey for the NICU: Running with Purpose

At Fractel, we believe in running for something bigger than ourselves, and our ambassador Tom Price embodies this spirit. From December 28 to January 17, Tom will push his physical and mental limits, running 1500 kilometers from Melbourne to Adelaide and back in just 21 days. His motivation? A deeply personal cause—raising over $150,000 for the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at The Royal Women’s Hospital.

Running for a Cause Close to the Heart

For Tom, this journey is more than a physical feat. His niece, Sylvie, spent 4.5 challenging months in the NICU, fighting for her life. It was this experience that ignited a deep passion within him to advocate for the smallest, most fragile lives.

With this run, Tom aims to raise funds and awareness for the 1,500 babies treated annually at the NICU. The funds will go towards life-saving equipment, vital research, and invaluable kangaroo cuddles—moments that mean the world to parents of newborns in intensive care.

A History of Extraordinary Efforts

This isn’t the first time Tom has taken on an extraordinary challenge to support the NICU. Earlier this year, he completed 50 marathons in 50 days, raising $125,000 for this crucial cause. Now, he’s set his sights on an even greater goal, running an average of 75 kilometers a day, including several double marathons, during some of the hottest days of the year.

Tom’s motivation is clear: “For every campaign, running is secondary—NICU comes first.”
